Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psychological approach widely supported by scientific literature. It is based on the principle that human beings act according to behavioral patterns. Individuals who want to change will be led to become aware of and better understand the thoughts, emotions and behaviors of these patterns. They will then be taught specific strategies to change the targeted patterns. There is no guarantee of results from the therapeutic process. It is a process that requires commitment and effort on the part of the patient.
